The smartphones that are not approved by PTA are those smartphones that were brought to Pakistan by improper channels.

PTA allowed just only one device free of cost that you can take with you when you arrive in Pakistan from abroad, however, if you carry more than one device you should register them with PTA and pay the tax on them according to Pakistan Tax Laws.

If you have such a smartphone that is blocked by PTA then you are in the right place here we will guide you on how to register your smartphone blocked by PTA so that you can use it.

Here are the steps we use to unblock any smartphone that is blocked by PTA

Step 1 – Sign-up/Sign-in

The very first step is to register with PTA. Visit their login page. If you are already registered with PTA then enter your username and password if you are not registered then signup with PTA.

Choose the appropriate fields and fill them up. Press Submit button.PTA will send you a confirmation email at the email address you just have entered in the sign-up form. After confirmation, you are registered with PTA and the registration process is done.

Step 2 – Login and enter device information

After registration login to the PTA website, read the declaration form carefully in order to understand the term and conditions to use website data.

  • After reading the declaration form , click on register my device.
  • Click on “User Type
  • Click on “mobile registration to pay duty tax”
  • Enter the mobile number to recieve payment information
  • Choose the type of SIM
  • Write the 15 digits IMEI no of PTA blocked mobile number.(usually TWO IMEI numbers)
  • Submit the form.

Step 3 – Payment

After form submission, a new window will display containing the necessary information regarding the due tax of your device. You will get a Public Safety Identification (PSID)number and CoC (Certificate of Compliance) ID, to pay the dues through SMS and on your registered email ID. You can pay tax dues in all commercial banks via ATM or online by PSID.

Once the tax is paid, PTA will notify you via SMS that your device is approved. It takes 24hrs to 48hrs to use SIM in newly approved mobile.
